I have started a new hobby that I just love!! I found this great site (http://www.twinstitchers.com/) that has so many fun patterns so I bought a few and finished my first one. I gave it to a friend who just had a new baby. I can't wait to try some more of her patterns!

Blankets and more blankets!!
So all of my kids LOVE to cover up with a blanket when they are watching TV. The problem is that when they're not watching TV there are blankets everywhere! I've been keeping my eye out on a quilt stand so I can hang all of the blankets on something when they are not in use, but I can't believe how expensive they are. Not only that, I just couldn't find one I liked........so.......I MADE MY OWN!!
I have a huge wood pile in my garage, so I grabbed some of my wood and went to work. I cut, sanded, cut again and then screwed it all together and stained it!! I am so dang proud of myself. I have never attempted something like this. I didn't have a pattern, just an idea in my head...and BOOM!! It worked :). Seriously, it's such an awesome feeling to finish an AWESOME project.

Last Halloween Project......I think :)
I think this is my last Halloween project for a while. Well, I guess I still have to finish up the costumes for my kids, but then I'm on to something else. Maybe things for Thanksgiving.....or Christmas!

I'm on a roll.....I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!
I have been going CRAZY with holiday decorations. I think it's because my kids are old enough to understand, "Don't TOUCH!" so I feel like I can put more things out knowing they'll still be there in the morning. Here's a couple of more things I made:
I bought this unfinished kit last year form Wood Connections when I was visiting family in Utah. I LOVE THEIR STORE!!!
I found these wood cut outs at Michaels and grabbed a few to make a hangy thing for my entertainment center. They came in packs of three and were $1 each. So for $5 (and my own scrapbook paper already on hand) I made it!

Halloween crafty fever!
I've started doing weekly craft day with some of my friends and decided to get ready for Halloween. I bought a new scroll saw and tried it out making these ghosts and candy corns. I can believe I didn't buy the saw sooner. It was awesome to be able to cut out my own wood crafts and not have to buy them! The pumpkins are just made out of 4X4's with pip cleaners for the stems.

To Do list!
I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted something here. I've been doing crafts but haven't been taking pictures of them. I've turned a new leaf (once again) and am determined to post stuff here more frequently.
So, here's my latest craft I made:
It's my new TO DO list! Those are post-it notes under each day so that I can write down things I want to get done that day. I love it!! The silver writing is from silver contact paper I bought at Home Depot. It was a huge roll for about $5 or so. It's thicker than most contact paper and it worked great!

Music Teacher Gift
My son had a music performance at school that we attended last week. Normally my son doesn't really participate in the songs. My husband taught him to mouth "Watermelon" so that the audience thinks he's singing but normally he just looks bored up on stage. Well, to my shock and excitement, this concert was different. Not only did he sing but he did all the hand and body movements for the song as well. I wanted to stand up and start clapping an yelling "That's MY BOY!" when I saw him, but I did contain myself.....barely.
After the concert I went right up to the music teacher and told her how wonderful I thought she was and how proud I was of my son. Any teacher that can get my son to crawl out of his hole and do what he did deserves a huge STAR!!!
Well, since I didn't think I gave enough praise to her on that particular day, I decided to make her a little something that my son could take to her at school. This is what I came up with:
(I used a poem I found on the internet and changed it a bit so that it pertained more to the music teacher than a regular teacher. I filled with regular M&M's to go with the poem.)
So my husband is a Crystal Light (of course we buy the knock off cuz it's cheaper!) fan and we buy it all the time. I decided to start saving the containers and have a HUGE pile of them but I knew they would come in handy, and I was right!! Here's what I used for my gift!

Birth Info
I was surfing Pinterest the other day and saw an awesome wall decoration idea that I knew I had to copy. I have a blank wall in my daughter's room and have been waiting to find something I love....and I found it!
There is one hanging on the wall for each girl. They love to read it and know the facts of their birth! They were a lot of fun to make and create. I bought some cheap frames at the dollar store (11 x 14) and painted them white. Then I put the printed facts on a piece of poster board that I cut to fit in the frame and then made a border out of matching scrapbook paper and my paper punches!

Halloween bags
I decided to make some Halloween bags for my kids. I found an orange flat sheet at Walmart and cut it up to make 5 bags. I then bought some Halloween fabric when it was 60% at JoAnns and sewed it on right in the middle. I let my kids pick the Halloween fabric they wanted for their bag so everyone would know which bag was there. The bags were a hit! Now I don't have to worry about what they'll be using for Trick or Treating for the next several years!

Bags
I've been in the bag making mood lately! Here are a couple I've made:
My MOMS Club is hosting a "Pink Party" to help raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness and one of the things they are going to do is have a silent auction. I volunteered to make a few things to auction off. This bag will be one of the items.
My friend has been attending a bible study class and didn't have a bag to carry all of her books in, so I found some place mats that I had bought about 2 years ago and whipped her up a bag!

Princess Dress
This is one of those projects that I've been wanted to make but have never got around to it. Well, I finally put time aside and did it. I was a bit intimidated by this project and I'm not sure why. I think it was because I would have to cut the wood dress top out and I have never done that before. It was a lot easier than I thought!
After sanding down the top of the dress I modged podged scrapbook paper on to it. I decided to add a little lace to the top as well.
Then I cut all my tulle and got out my handy dandy staple gun and went to work. All the tulle is stapled to the wood! Then I added the ribbon for the hair accessories to be clipped to.
Last thing I did was drill the holes in the shoulders and used wide white ribbon to hang it up!

Halloween countdown
Halloween is a favorite in our house! I've been wanting to do a Halloween countdown for some time now but just couldn't make a decision on what kind I wanted to make. Well, I finally made up my mind and I went for it!
I used black puffy paint to put the numbers on and then decorated the pockets with different Halloween stuff.
The Halloween sign is chip board with paper modged podged on and then I cut the letters out in black vinyl.
I'm able to fit 5 tootsie rolls in each pocket!! Perfect treat for my 5 kids!
